Every calculator on this site runs in your browser. Nothing you type into one is sent to this site or to anyone else, and none of it is stored on a server.
When you pick a headphone or a source in any calculator, that one choice is saved in your browser's local storage, so the next tool opens on the gear you already chose instead of an empty form. What is saved is a model name and nothing else: no identifier, no record of what you worked out, no account. It never leaves your browser, the Forget it button beside a pre-filled field deletes it, and clearing this site's data removes it as well. Everything here works with that storage blocked; you simply start each tool from scratch.
The light and dark switch at the top of every page works the same way. By default the site follows your system setting and saves nothing. If you pick the opposite of your system, that choice is saved as one word, dark or light, so the next page opens the way you left it. Switching back to your system's setting deletes it.
The site also installs a small script that keeps a copy of the pages you open, so the calculators keep working when your connection does not. That copy is a copy of pages already published here — the same HTML anyone else gets — and it holds the last sixty pages you visited and nothing more. It never contains anything you typed, because nothing you type is sent anywhere to begin with. Clearing this site's data, or uninstalling the site if you added it to your home screen, removes it.
Google's AdSense script is loaded on every page and can set cookies in your browser. No advertisement is shown anywhere on this site at present. If that changes, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can switch off personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites explains what Google does with the data.
This site uses Google Analytics to count page views and see which pages people reach. It records that a page was opened; it does not record anything you type into the calculators, because the calculators never send what you type anywhere. You may opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google's browser add-on, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
There is no consent banner here today, so both Google scripts named above load on every visit. Until there is one, the controls are at your end: block third-party cookies for this site, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or use a browser or extension that blocks those scripts. None of the calculators need a cookie to work, and all of them keep working with every cookie refused.
